| Description: | The Radiology Department at Falls Memorial Hospital is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology, the State Department of Health, and the Federal Department of Agriculture and is part of the Hospital’s Joint Commission of Accredited Hospitals Organization. All the Radiology Department’s practices and procedures meet the rigorous standards from all of the accrediting agencies.
The Radiology Department provides services in:
General Radiography
Mammography
CT computed Tomography
MRI Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Nuclear Medicine
Dexascan
Ultrasound
Fluoroscopy
The Radiology Department is electronically connected to the other departments in the hospital utilizing the hospital information system. We are connected electronically to our Radiologists so they can read our films quickly if indicated. Turn around times on reading of exams can be less than 2 hours.
The radiology staff works closely with the radiologist to ensure that the tests offered support the needs of the medical staff. Over the past year the Radiology Department has added new tests:
For patients who cannot do physical exercise, we have the persantine stress test. This test is used to determine if patients have blocked vessels to the heart. A drug is injected that makes your heart think you are doing physical exercise.
We also purchased a dexascanner which measures bone density. Bone density testing is important because it determines whether you are at risk for fractures. |
| Radiology services are available 24 hours per day, seven days a week. Business hours are between 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The rest of the hours are covered on call. |
