Caring, Experienced Staff

Falls Memorial has dedicated Family Practice Physicians and Nursing staff with experience, knowledge and skill to assist and guide you through the birth of your baby. If a medical problem develops they will respond immediately. Our medical professionals are always prepared to help. An experienced team is available 24 hours a day to care for you and your newborn.
Facilities / Family Centered Care
Falls Memorial offers a Family Centered Model of Care. This means you stay in one private room throughout labor, delivery, and recovery. (If you are not having a Cesarean Section.).After your baby is born you are encouraged to keep the baby in the room with you, also known as Mother Baby Care. This time spent together as soon as possible, helps you and your partner to care for your baby’s needs. This encourages early bonding and permits education by our staff on how to care for your baby and yourself. Our staff is able to determine your unique needs and focus on how to best meet your expectations.
Our Maternity rooms offer privacy and are equipped with comfortable furniture so that your partner or support person can remain with you. We offer a private homelike setting much like your bedroom which can quickly transform into a delivery room.
Cesarean Births
A surgical team is prepared to help with moms who require a cesarean birth or experience complications. Surgical obstetrical services are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Attentive Care
Each Falls Memorial obstetrical care nurse is certified in the Neonatal Resuscitation Program and has received specialized training in the care of mothers and babies. A personal care nurse will be with you every step of the way to guide you from labor through post partum to make certain you and your baby receive the best care possible.
Meals
You will be served nutritious meals from our new choice menu while in hospital. Falls Memorial also has a Family Pantry available anytime for juices and snacks for mom or her support person. If you would like to bring food from home, a microwave and refrigerator are available in the Family Pantry. Vending machines are available on the lower level dining room for visitors.
Falls Memorial Hospital and the Koochiching County Health Department introduce the next generation of childbirth education, free online classes that offer you:
· Flexibility: The educational videos are available 24/7. Watch and learn when it’s convenient for you. For as long — or short — of a time as you like.
· Versatility: The online format allows you to view the videos as many times as you want.
· Comfort: Because you can access the material from your home computer, you can learn in an environment that is comfortable for you.
