Falls Memorial Hospital offers a Level III Emergency Department service to the community. Twenty-four hour physician coverage is provided seven days a week. The physician coverage is managed through ECS of Minnesota, Inc. Specialty consultations are available by phone with regional facilities that provide required specialties that cannot be met here at this hospital. FMH is in active compliance with the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) as regulated by federal legislation.
Falls Memorial Hospital Emergency Room maintains a highly qualified nursing staff. Arriving patients are triaged by a Registered Nurse. The triage nurse evaluates your condition and assigns you to the Emergency Room or to Urgent Care. All patients presented to FMH by ambulance or with an emergent condition will be taken directly to the ER and provided with a medical screening.
The Emergency Room does not treat patients on a “first come first serve basis.” A patient arriving after you may see the physician first depending on the seriousness of the condition.
